Νέοι Σε Κίνηση 2 - Youth on the Move 2
Start date: May 1, 2012,

Youth Initiative “Youth on the Move 2” is a project idea that have born during the implementation of the youth initiative "Youth on the move". In that way "Youth on the Move 2" is the continue having the same priorities with the previous initiative to bring the information about mobility programs, mostly about Youth in Action- especially European Voluntary Service but also Erasmus and Leonardo to the places in Greece that this information is difficult to be reached by youth. This time moving one step forward our aim is not only to inform, but also connect the YIA program with solutions that can offer to unemployed youth. Starting from Athens the four volunteers of “Youth on the move 2” project will visit three different areas in Greece. On the South we will visit Creta, and on the West - Lefkada and on the North East - Thasos . All of these regions have in common that there are islands very near to the borders of Greece and as everyone knows because of the geographical obstacles, the youth there feel isolated and they have less opportunities to find a job. Our initiative once again will not wait from the youth to find us but we will reach them in order to inform them about youth mobility programs and how can be connected with employment offers. The duration of the project will be 5 months (1st May - 1st October 2012). Summer will facilitate our initiative aims better, not only because except the locals we will have the opportunity to inform more young people who will be there for vacation but also because Summer is the season that young people are relaxed and this factor is very important in order to listen and realize the information for their own best. During these months we will visit each of the places written above for 5 days due to inform young people how about YIA can be an important ally against unemployment. In every place that we are going we will make workshops about Youth in Action programs paying attention especially to European Voluntary Service (EVS). By non-formal education methods young people will have the opportunity to learn how to participate to these mobility programs by qualified and experienced volunteers (2 members of the team are EVS ex volunteers) and also how to use these programs in order to strengthen their position in the job market. In every place we have local partners who will help us and also we have already communicated with central department of EURES in Athens in order to have a detailed presentation from a responsible person everywhere we go.
