IES Bitácora is located in Punta Umbría, a coastal town in the province of Huelva, of about 15000 inhabitants. Our education center opens its doors in the school year 2012/2013. As we have said before, Punta Umbría is considered by the Administration of Education as a Compensatory Education School which means that some of our students are in social and economic disadvantages for access, permanence and promotion in the school system.As stated before, apart from being part of the Compensatory Education Programme, our school is totally bilingual, that is to say, all students from 1ºESO to 4º ESO follow two subjects (Geography-History and Physical Education) in English. It can be supposed the great difficulties we encounter in order to implement both programs to a satisfactory level. Our school wants to improve the linguistic level of foreign languages in our students. In order to get that aim, we understand that the improvement of linguistic competences of our teachers and the learning of new methodological ideas and techniques will bring the increase of motivation, interest in foreign languages and the broadening of a different multicultural and multilingual reality. All this is done with the final aim of achieving a quality education for our students in this center.Then, the participating teachers have chosen training courses according to those educational needs that are evident in our school since the first meeting. We try to get an internationalization of this school, an improvement of the linguistic competences of our students which will bring a quality education for the entire education center.
