Nauczyciele i uczniowie poznają innowacje niemieckiej gatronomii
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project assumes organizing professional training for 50 students from the Collective of Secondary Schools in Czchow. The participants are students from the second and third grade of The Secondary Technical School of Nourishment and Catering Services. According to the curriculum students’ professional training takes four weeks (20 working days) in the whole learning cycle. Main objectives of the project are:- expanding school’s educational offer with training abroad;- using and verifying theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills;- gaining skills in work organization and team cooperation;- learning new technologies and techniques of food preparation;- learning how to operate modern machines and appliances used in gastronomy;- getting to know German eating traditions and habits;- opportunity of direct communication with German citizens;- learning independence, responsibility and ability to make decisions. Our intention is an all-purpose preparation of young people for work and life in adulthood so that they do not have complexes wherever they choose to live or work. In our area there are not enough firms fulfilling these criteria, therefore sending our students to Berlin is the best solution to provide them with training of high quality. Besides, applying for funds for our students to be trained abroad we enlarge the educational offer of our school, which will have a positive impact on its position in the market. During the training students will learn about the actual work organization in Germany, get to know foodstuffs less popular at home, learn about new technologies and techniques of food preparation, learn how to operate modern catering equipment, as well as verify and improve the skills acquired during their education. An important aspect of their stay in Germany will be practical use of the German language in everyday communication and in customer service in particular. Our students will be able to learn about different culture, eating traditions and habits of our neighbours and meet German employers. The project is aimed to develop not only professional but personal skills as well, help to overcome fear of the new and strange, promote entrepreneurship and indicate new areas of professional mobility. Our region has high unemployment rate for graduates. Therefore programs that can enhance this situation are advisable. Experiences gathered during the training will make our students more attractive on the local and European labour market and will contribute to the promotion of the region they come from. The project assumes training for two groups of students: the first group of 30 people will leave in March 2017, the second group of 20 people will leave in March 2018. Each group will be taken care of by two teachers from the Collective of Secondary Schools in Czchow: a teacher of the German language and a teacher of vocational subjects. Beforehand, participants will actively participate in the language and culture course. During their training they will improve their business language skills. The receiving institution provides training positions, board and lodging, local transportation cards, assistance in arranging leisure time, certificates of participation in the projects and superintendence over the training process. Cooperation between the institutions in based on the internet and telephone communication. This way of communication proved successful in the previous project. The implementation of the project is carried out according to the established schedule. Particular tasks are fulfilled by appointed people, especially the coordinator. The project for the teaching staff is a mobility project for vocational schools teachers and aims at establishing cooperation with a similar group of professionals in Germany. The participants will be 17 teachers who will take part in the project in February 2017 and a teacher from a German vocational education institution who will participate in it in July 2017. The expected results of the project include: teachers’ professional and personal development, extending their professional experience and competence, constructive conclusions about programs and methods in vocational education and their implementation in teaching methodology at home school, growth of attractiveness of professional subjects classes and enhancing graduates’ chances in the labour market. These results as well as new experiences will be presented to the whole community of the sending institution, local schools and local community. This will encourage others to participate in the EU programs, open to new cultures and traditions, learn foreign languages and get to know methods of teaching from other cultures.
