The project "The teacher of the twenty-first century" implies an increase of the professional qualifications of the employees of the participating organization. We are witnessing a continuous change and sustainable development of societies. Citizens need to be active and flexible with regard to changing conditions. Therefore, the project is aimed at the staff of the institution who want to keep up with the progress and are aware of the value of continuous personal and professional development. Thanks to the participation of the teachers in courses students will benefit from their gained experience and will build active attitude at school and in their personal lives. Objectives of the project: - Broadening the competences in order to increase opportunities for personal growth - Increasing the knowledge of foreign languages and ICT among the teachers and therefore also among the students - Raising the level of knowledge and understanding of other cultures and countries among the courses’ participants who will later share this knowledge with other staff members and students - Creating a network of international contacts which will enable active participation in social life and development of a sense of European citizenship and identity; this will help to acquire new partner schools to carry out the KA2 project in the future - Increasing the attractiveness of classroom and extracurricular activities through the participation in the project - Increasing the sense of initiative, resourcefulness and self-esteem - Increasing motivation and satisfaction from the everyday work - Improving the quality of school work - Implementation of educational solutions observed abroad. The project provides for 22 mobilities in the range of five courses: - English language training course for teachers who speak it at A2 level (5 mobilities) - Methodology course for English teachers covering modern techniques of teaching English (3 mobilities) - Course covering the use of ICT in teaching (6 mobilities) - Two courses on the development and implementation of innovative methods and forms of working with students (8 mobilities) Courses will use the following methods and forms of work: drama, theater techniques, communication games, discussions, workshops, activating methods, observations, empirical classes; teachers will also create a variety of teaching materials with the use of ICT. Some of the courses will take place in teachers’ leisure time (winter and summer holidays). The courses will be attended by English teachers and teachers of different subjects in classes I to VI. This group will include teachers (both women and men) with varying work experience and different professional degrees. Participation in the project will provide teachers with the opportunity to test themselves and gain new experience. They will have the opportunity to learn the principles of how other European education systems work, they will study specific organizational cultures, they will familiarize themselves with other forms of management at the educational institution. The use of modern computer technologies and innovative methods and forms of work with the student will be introduced to the teachers. In addition, the participants of the project will have the opportunity to improve practical foreign language speaking and they will develop their adaptability and teamwork skills. Participation in the courses will help them to develop an attitude of curiosity, openness and tolerance towards other cultures. Few days stay at the European institution will allow to improve the ability to work in a group and to overcome stress. Mobility will become, increasingly, a key element of the development strategy of the institution and will make educational offer more attractive. Participation in the courses will develop also the non-formal competences, such as gaining self-confidence, overcoming barriers in interacting with other people, especially foreigners; the believe in one’s own abilities will rise and it will contribute to a better vocational development. Participation in this project will not only contribute to strengthening the European dimension of education in the institution. It will also: increase the transparency of qualifications, introduce innovative elements in the educational process, help in acquisition of new experiences and gaining knowledge. The whole venture will establish cooperation with other educational institutions, it will help to improve the knowledge of foreign languages and will increase the involvement in school work and will assist to more effective career planning. After the completion of the project funding long-term changes will be visible inspired by the acquired knowledge and experience (using gathered teaching materials, conducting activating methods in the classroom, publications of lesson plans, maintaining international relations/partnerships, more active participation in international projects).
