Nature Dream
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Mar 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The idea of the project is coming from some our youngsters with fewer opportunities, who have already participated in previous exchanges and, who have chosen the main topic of the exchange, which is “sport and environment. The aims of the project for young people are to promote the practice of outdoor activities through which we draw the attention of youngsters to healthy lifestyles. We foster social inclusion and the active participation of young people and support them to acquire and improve knowledge, skills and attitudes through informal and non-formal learning with a view to improving their personal development and hence their employability in the European labour market. We promote active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, solidarity and acceptance. They will get to know nature better, which is suffering from global and local problems. Their environmental awareness also increases, which will contribute to them being more environmentally conscious citizens. Many of the participants are young people with fewer opportunities. Organizations and youth workers will also profit from this exchange. We plan long-term cooperation in order to foster quality improvements in youth work and in the preparation, implementation, monitoring as well as the follow up of this and other future exchanges. We also want to enhance the international dimension of youth activities and the role of youth workers and organisations as support structures for young people. It’s important to improve competences related to youth workers’ and group leaders’ professional profiles, thus we can also improve youth work methods and practices in order to provide better quality of work. The main activities will be sport and nature related activities: hiking, rope activities, rock climbing , workshops on environmental protection and preservation, geocaching in the forest etc. We will do our activities using informal and non-formal methods such as dynamic, interactive and simulation games, small sitdowns, work in big and small groups, presentations and learning by doing. We expect that skills and competences of young people and youth workers will be improved, and that organizations will have a stronger cooperation in the long run, through which youth work can be better developed. Venue of the exchange: Dédestapolcsány, Hungary Date of the exchange: 21-31 of August, 2014. Participating countries: Poland, Slovenia, Spain and Hungary. Number of participants: 5 young people +1 youth leader per country Group age of participants: 16-25
