Nascholing secties en Cambridge-groep
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The subject of English has long been under pressure in our school, especially in the ‘VMBO-departments’. With the training of a large group of teachers of English (10 colleagues) we want to boost the professionalism. Secondly, the training aims at the acquisition of general knowledge regarding language acquisition and it focuses on CLIL didactics so the teachers can offer support to the group of teachers who are achieving a Cambridge certificate to be able to participate in the ‘VTO pilot’ we are currently setting up. These "Cambridge teachers' (15 colleagues) also receive training in England that focuses on general improvement of language skills and a thorough knowledge of the CLIL didactics. When this training has been successfully concluded and the teachers have got their Cambridge Certificate (at least Advanced) they are qualified to participate in the pilot VTO and the Anglia pilot. Both pilots will be launched next year (2016-2017). The training of the Cambridge group will enable these teachers to start teaching their subject in English, the training of the English department is aimed to improve their own lessons and to support the so called Cambridge teachers. The results will be particularly noticeable within the organization and within the primary schools that supply our pupils. In addition to the above, the departments of Biology, Science and Chemistry want to orient themselves on the subject of ‘Techniek’. For this, they want to visit a conference in the UK. The results will lead to discussions with various representatives within the primary schools so that it will be possible to describe some sort of continuous learning, starting at primary school and going on at our school. The other reason for visiting this conference is to establish international contacts.
