The VTO-project has started but its teachers need a better proficiency and more knowledge of CLIL-didactics. For this reason, 15 colleagues are going to England to receive a well-designed course aiming at improvement of personal language skills and CLIL. The results will be that our students will have lessons in which teachers speak more and better English and that their subject will be taught even better because they know more about the application of the CLIL didactics. Colleagues who follow the course but as yet do not teach in English will be prepared to evaluate their own skills so that they can decide if they need more education or that they are ready to teach their subject in English.The colleagues who teach German will have an intensive training aimed at the improvement of their own language skills and to experience the didactics of using the target language as the only available language. Their experiences will provide information for their department to change or improve the policies they have set in motion. The experiences of students which we monitor should provide information how the use of the target language is received by students and if this improves because of the knowledge gained during the course.All results will be exchanged with the PCI (Platform Coordinators Internationalization) and with all relevant departments. The colleagues from the primary school who come to Broadstairs to follow the same course as our colleagues will exchange their experiences at their own school and call upon their colleagues to join the Cambridge-program at our school. By doing this we strengthen the teaching of English in the supply area of our school which will improve the general program of our school because English is still very difficult for many of our students.
