Nowadays, the most fundamental aim of tourism is to provide diversive supplies, longer residentional time acitivities of the tourism regions on international fields. The Central Hungarian and the Banskobystricky area can naturally include the forest railways which allure an active ecological and cultural regional attract to the natural beauties of the Börzsöny mountains, the Danube bend, the Danube- Ipoly National Park and the Garam- valley. Among national touristic facilities the forest railway has an unique fascination, moreover it is notorious among railway-friends from foreign countries. Achievements: Nowadays, forest railways represent a unique tourism recreation possibility, especially for schools and families with young children. In accordance with this, the main motivating factor of the project was to create a complex tourism product on both sides of the border. During the project, 2 railway tracks were reconstructed, the railway line between Čienry Balog – Dobroč and the railway line Nagyirtás –Nagybörszöny with a length of 6.25 km. Some wagons and engines were also purchased – 1 information wagon, 1 steam locomotive and 1 diesel locomotive. All these project activities contributed to the increased level of tourist satisfaction.
