Na zkušenou napříč Evropou
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

"To gain experience across Europe" is the name of this project which was focused on preparing a professional training for 8 best three-year Apprenticeship Programs (Catering Studies – Waiter/Chef Training) pupils and for 12 best second- and third-grade "Management of Advertising and Art Studies" and “Information Services in Companies and Institutions“ students. An accompanying person also took part with regard to participation of underage pupils and those studying apprenticeship program and perhaps pupils who are medically or socially disadvantaged. The training stays took place in northern Portugal in Minho region which is considered to be the cradle of Portuguese nation and very important for tourism. The partner of this project was Associação Intercultural Amigos da Mobilidade – a non-profit organisation specialised in European programs which has organised mobilities for more than 1800 participants since 2012. To ensure a smooth process of the project, we made a preparatory visit of this partner in January 2015, the costs were paid from the applicant´s funds. The visit enabled to settle details of the training stays, partners´s responsibilities and suitable workplaces for pupils - restaurants Muralha and Casadosarcos, an information centre and library, a secondary school and school library, the advertising agency Major. The aim of the Catering Studies students training course was to learn methods of preparing and serving the traditional Portuguese meals. This cuisine includes a lot of meat, fish, potatoes and rice. The influence of former Portuguese overseas colonies can be seen in variety of spices. Also the neighbouring Spain and north Africa affected the Portuguese cuisine (sweet Arabic desserts). It was very important for our students to prepare local meals from fresh local ingredients of high quality - olive oil, garlic, olives, capary, sheep and goat cheese. Local restaurants are focused mainly on serving fish and seafood specialities, which also follows our school educational programme. However, we are not able to ensure this unique training in common conditions. Ingredients as poultry or pork meat are often used in Portugal as well as in the Czech Republic, although the technological methods of preparing them (spices, taste combinations ) differ from ours. Stewing, roasting, boiling and grilling are common technologies used in modern gastronomy of the Portuguese cuisine. The aim of the training courses for the students of the “Management of Advertising and Art Studies“ and “ Information Services in Companies and Institutions “ was to learn modern information and communication technologies in marketing, advertising and media. That will make the participants´ professional skills and abilities better, which will consequently improve their progress in further studies or in the fast development within these branches. The students contributed to advertising activities of an important tourist area and the Polytechnical institute IPCA, they also took part in leaflets creating and translating and they participated in organization of important cultural events of the Barcelos city. Students of above mentioned studies go through an annual 14-day training in various institutions every year. The practical knowledge from this project training courses will enable them to use and compare the experienced techniques of firms, institutions and libraries in the Czech Republic, for example in the Information Centre Luhačovice, in the Tomas Baťa University library or in the Zlín regional library. Students will be able to introduce the relevant experience from institutions of EU countries to Czech partners. All participants are more confident in learning new language and communication skills in English and German languages. Their knowledge in information and communication technology skills were improved and they were informed about the latest work methods and technical equipment. It was very important for pupils to get to know cultural and natural beauties of the region as well as to improve multicultural skills and had a chance to meet new people and make new professional and personal relations. They became more confident and independent, they learnt team work and responsibility for carrying out their tasks, which developed their personality and influenced their future professional and individual lives. Valuable knowledge and experience from the stay will be used by graduates in the labour market and in their further studies. Language, cultural and professional training course were organized by Vocational School in Luhacovice as well as the transport and administrative issues (insuarance, agreements etc.). Monitoring, mentoring, accommodation, board and cultural excursions were provided by the partner A.I.A.M. The project results will be used by Vocational School in Luhacovice and our social partners both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
