Na Otoku - Doku Izola
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Jul 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Through 10 days youth exchange, young people from various ethnic, national, cultural, religious and social backgrounds will focus on the socio-economical obstacles and empowerment of young people through the use of media. We will examine how we can as "voluntary journalists" participate in public life through new, "alternative" media. The project will take place in Izola. Many participants of the exchange are lacking employment and live on the margins of society, so they are forced to find alternative strategies of gaining income and struggling through the months. Instead of getting passive, they have visions and ideas about the society which would consume less, but be more turned towards sustainable development, less damaging to the environment and fair to people. We will watch short videos made by participants and have discussions about that. Through the practical workshops on making of short video documentaries, young people will gain media making skills enabling them to establish a more effective public voice. Our products ? video and film documentaries ? will be presented at the final public projection, followed by a discussion. Later they will be shown on different film festivals, public projections and internet.
