The work programme for 2014 contains 41 activities taking place at local, national and international level involving the whole network. A particular strength of ESN is the very close collaboration between the over 450 local associations. The work programme will focus on the importance of our large scale projects which are implemented European wide. Apart from those, all local associations (sections) organise regular activities for international and local students such as welcome days, buddy systems and integration activities. They also provide students with information and support in all different levels of their academic and social life. The work programme is divided as follow;Membership Management Activities 1 of 14; Regular statutory activities are organised to ensure the successful functioning of Europe’s biggest student network. The Annual General Meeting gives all ESN sections the opportunity to evaluate the reports of the executive bodies, plan and approve the Action Plan for the upcoming year and discuss the long term strategy. To ensure consistency and flexibility in our statutory work the Council of National Representatives (CNR) meets six times per year. The International Board meets at least twice per month to discuss the implementation of the Action Plan and take executive decisions.Capacity Building & Training Activities 15 to 19; Throughout the year ESN runs several capacity building and training activities, to educate participants about international projects and train them to implementing them successfully. For that reasons a pool of trainers has been established which will be extended this year. An e-learning platform will also give learning opportunities online. On National level over 70 National Platforms will be taking place this year, bringing together delegates from the respective countries where trainers will be attending to facilitate workshops. Advocacy & Representation Activities 20 to 28; Every year ESN runs research studies to assess the satisfaction of students with our work and to create policy recommendations for evidence based advocacy. In 2014 ESN will be disseminating the outcomes of the Erasmus Impact Study (EC Tender), will run the annual ESNSurvey and have a new extended version of the PRIME project, called STORY, exploring obstacles of Training mobility. Last but not least ESN will promote the new Erasmus+ programme through the Mov’In Europe project.Network & Partnership Activities 29 to 33; A diverse range of international, regional and national networking events are organised annually to allow different bodies in ESN to meet, plan and evaluate the implementation of the work programme. Non-formal education meetings such as the Regional Platforms or National Board Meetings take place to share best practices. ESN attends numerous important partner organisations’ General Assemblies during which we promote the work of the network and build cross sectorial partnerships.Information & Dissemination Activities 34 to 41; For the dissemination and exploitation of results inside and outside the network, ESN makes uses of different communication channels and tries to develop new and innovative tools for providing and sharing information. Newsletters, magazines, an annual report on the main achievements, European Study Fairs called Infomarkets to promote HEIs, and the participation to a wide range of European events such as the European Youth Event help ESN to widely promote their Mission, Vision.
