Our work in 2014 will be based on the programmatic evidence from working with children and youth, and teachers across the EU and other countries. With our evidence from the field we will support our network partners to lobby government, members of parliament, ministers, central bankers, journalists, business people, academics and individuals from all walks of life so that policies and reforms in the fields of education & training and of youth (in particular the country-specific recommendations issued in the framework of the European Semester) support the sustainable changes needed to improve the lives of children and youth.Expected outcomes: • Increased awareness under the above stakeholders of the importance of inclusive and participatory education empowering children and youth socially and economically to act as agents of change in their own lives and for a more equitable world. • Increased awareness of the need for integrating social and financial education curricula within formal & non-formal education systems, whether at local, regional or national levels. • Enhanced visibility, credibility and effectiveness of the advocacy work of Aflatoun and its members.Expected outputs:• Evidence collected on programmes, curricula and training, analysed and presented to the relevant stakeholders to demonstrate SFE impact and raise its profile• Advocacy capacity enhanced among the European network partners• Country advocacy strategies developed or improved• Advocacy and communication materials upgraded and new materials developed• The goals of the project and Aflatoun network promoted among the relevant stakeholders on national and European level Planned Activities:1. Complete first global systematic review and meta-analysis of financial education programmes for children & youth capturing results from 21 studies globally highlighting changes in knowledge, attitudes, and behavior2. Conduct monitoring and evaluation meetings with the Ministry of Education and UNICEF in Turkey to standardize their approach for capturing results of the implementation of Social and Financial Education at both primary and secondary school levels3. Collect, analyse and report data with representative selection of schools for baseline Turkey/UNICEF evaluation4. Conduct training for network partners on advocacy development and implementation5. Participate in national stakeholder meetings to support the partners with translating Europe 2020, Education and training 2020, the EU Youth Strategy and other sector-specific policy agendas to practice6. Support network partners in country strategy development by participating in their meetings and workshops and providing them with the necessary tools7. Participate in European platforms, international conferences, seminars and meetings to promote SFE 8. Upgrade and develop new advocacy and communication materials 9. Develop and implement visibility campaigns to promote the goals of the project and Aflatoun networkTarget groups: • Aflatoun network members• Government bodies • Financial institutions• Schools• Teachers• Teacher training institutes• Academics
