My Small Permaculture Life - Benim Küçük Permakültür Yaşamım

We, as the Environment Volunteers Youth Group, organized a youth exchange under Erasmus + programme.The name of our project is ? My little permaculture life? and it was hold during the dates 02-09 June 2015 in Kayseri.28 participants from Turkey, Romania, Portugal and Bulgaria will participate in this project. The main goals of our project were; to include young people living in rural areas to social life; to make a connection between urban youth and natural life; to improve their knowledge and skills about village life; and to encourage young people?s living in nature by improving their intercultural abilities. Objectives of our project: To assist young people connect to nature, To encourage enjoying implementations and the nature, To support sustainable agriculture and improve young people?s knowledge, To improve the feeling of unity with the nature. To develop a sense of responsibility for environment and a sense of active citizenship.To increase young peoples intercultural ability. We used non-formal educational tools in our activities. Some of our activities were as follows: Team building games, presentations, Detecting fields for permacultural ecological agriculture and soil production types, production of ecological fertilizer, making an amateur mill on a stream, and design of electiricity manufacture of worm compost, types of cherry and almond vaccination, tree pruning and ecological consumtion, ecological food at permaculture, creating a permacultural ecological agriculture and a garden, Youthpass certificate session, NGO visit, follow-up projects session, farewell party with camp fire and intercultural nights. In our project, the participants learnt about the philosophy of sustainable ecological agriculture and how to implement it; what organic agriculture is, and how to fish in the resorveir and cook it and therefore they learnt to share. The participants learnt and experienced how to make cowpat, how to protect environment, design of house garden, urban and community strategies, and the effective use of natural sources. While doing these, They created a farm. In this farm, They exemined the different scales of food production, sustainable human settelements and designs. Participants learnt about home design, construction, energy saving and production of it. Permacultural solutions would be promoted to support alternative financial structuring, which is to become a life style.
