MUVO-TEWA - Multinational Upgrading in Vocationally Orientated Technology and Education in the Welding Area

The MUVO-TEWA project will contribute both to the modernisation and to the internationalisation of vocational training in the metal welding sector. The project will develop a training structure (for initial use across the partner countries but for later expansion to non-participating countries) comprising a mixture of distance learning and on-site learning, both areas reliant upon the use of ICT.Training curriculum, study models and a learning database will then be developed for application both on and off the job (to suit existing employees and those currently undergoing study for future entry to the sector) with the focus being upon practical education in a product led industry.Through the development of new, flexible teaching methods, the project aims to better qualify individuals whilst retaining industry recognition for traditional learning methods/qualifications held within the welding industry. The learning database will be tested within the metal welding sector (across each partner country) to be followed by an evaluation phase considering both learning methods & potential future recognition of learning by industry professionals. The tools and materials developed will exist in both paper-based and electronic (CD-Rom and internet) formats, in EN and all partner languages (DA, NO, LT & IT) and will be promoted through existing partner networks, through articles in journals & relevant press and via established links with the European Foundation for Educational & Vocational Training (EFVET).
