Musical Bridges: Towards Intercultural Cities through Youth Music Activities

During the five days Training Course that will be held in September 2010 in Limassol, Cyprus, about 40 cultural activists, artists and organizers from both Cypriot communities (Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots), Greece, Turkey, Bosnia Herzegovina and FYR of Macedonia, will obtain basic knowledge in strategic and institutional management, fundraising, urban development and regeneration, youth and cultural projects management by lecturers, trainers and facilitators, mostly representatives of European cultural networks. Through workshops, round-tables, brainstorming, showcases, study visits and outdoor activities. The participants will be in position to rediscuss the role of youth in modern cities, the issues of migrations, interculturality, minority rights or intercommunal relations. As a results, the participants that during the course will be equipped with adequate knowledge, experiences and skills that are dully applicable to their towns become will be in position to initiate and execute small scale youth and cultural programs in deprived areas, motivating and involving their peers to integrate better in their societies.
