MUSIC-for-DEAF — A special music training programme for teachers to improve the music instrument playing of deaf and hard of hearing students

The target group of the project is university, college and artist graduates, music specialists teaching the death and people with hearing difficulties. The project aims at developing a new methodology and teaching material for offering a special musical training for deaf and people with hearing disabilities. The long-term impact of the project is promotion of the hearing-impaired children’s personal development, communication skills and self-esteem included. The main results of the project are an in-service teacher training course on theory and practice, with methodology, teacher’s handbook and training material, included video case studies. A curriculum for clarinet teaching will be prepared adapting the new methodologies. A website will be established for demonstration of the course, dissemination of information and acting as a professional forum for the stakeholders. Dissemination of the products will be done also to countries outside partner group through professional networks and associations of this special academic area.
