"Munkaalapú képzés módszertanának tanulmányozása és megvalósítása fogyatékkal és hátránnyal küzdő tanulók esetében"
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Summary One of the target groups of our project consists of 40 students coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, with learning difficulties, physical disabilities. These students study in specialised VET schools or VET schools where integrated teaching is taking place and they would be the participants of these three and four week work experience projects. Our host partners are from Finland, Italy, Germany and Poland. We chose our partners according to the special needs of these students, so these host organisations are all capable to ensure the physical conditions and the VET training placements for these students. We have already co-operated with these partners in other mobility projects or VET training projects or partnership projects. Three of our partners were involved in a partnership project with us and we developed tools together to help the mobililty of these students with special needs. In order to guarantee the successful implementation of this project we were very careful when selecting our host partners. The main goal of the project is to motivate students first and then help them to improve their vocational skills, personal competences, communication skills and foreign language skills. The students will be placed in an entrepreneur school environment where they will be taught and their work will be monitored by vocational teachers and supporting teachers. The products the students will be making will be sold for real customers, therefore they will be part of a real productions and sale process and understand the essence of entrepreneurship. There will be 4 students in each group who will be accompanied by 1 or 2 teachers based on the degree of the physical handicap and special needs of the participating students. Following the meeing and the thorough discussions the sending schools have signed a cooperation agreement with WEXEdU Foundation or sent their Letter of Intents. The schools have declared that they will closely cooperate with our Foundation in the selection and prior preparation of the students, will provide accompanying teachers, who will take care for mentoring, follow up the progress of the students, assess the work experience, also share their experiences with the partners of the school and prepare a presentation for dissemination seminars in cooperation with WEXEdU. The Foundation will take care of the organisation of the project and conduct a 3-day preparation course for the participants prior to their departure. The most important impact of the project will be realised through the career building of these participants and the help they receive in stepping out into the labour market. The accompanying teachers will be familiarized with new supportive methods and systems with could be used and adapted in their own schools and the good practices can become part of the pedagogical programmes. Further education of vocational trainers abroad The dual vocational educational system has been implemented in Hungary on the basis of the German system. One of our German partners, SBH agreed to provide a 2-month job-shadowing learning opportunity for 2 teachers in order to understand the methods and the functioning of the dual system. Since the companies in Hungary have just began the vocational training of the students there is need to gain more experience in this field in order to refine the system. The VET schools and the companies need to improve and optimize their cooperation on a local level based on these good practices. The representative of the Foundation had an opportunity to take part in a contact seminar in Iceland in the topic of work-based learning, where she met a project coordinator of a Norwegian VET shool. The Norwegian school has established an outstandingly good practice re the cooperation between the school and the local companies. The school management is open to share their knowlege re the organisation of work-based learning and host a group of Hungarian teachers, vocational trainers, members of chambers of crafts and vocational experts for a 1-week training programme. WEXEdU Foundation will organise the project, inform the institutions delegating the participants about the details of the work programme and also prepare the beneficiaries for the study trip. WEXEdU will assess the project based on pre-determined criteria and will disseminate the good practices with its network. A well-organised vocational educational system affects the qualification, empoyability of those young people who took part in the VET education and in a way it has an impact on the labour market and the economy as well.
