Search for European Projects

Multiculturemedium
Start date: Mar 1, 2012,

The project will take part in the city of Petrinja, Sisak-Moslavina County in Central Croatia, close to Croatia’s capital city, Zagreb. Unemployed young volunteers will have the opportunity to stay in Croatia for 6 months. It has two main objectives: 1. To inform and raise awareness of youth on the need, importance and opportunities of volunteering through the use of multimedia and social networks; 2. To bring closer and familiarise local citizens and youth with opportunities presented for citizens within the European Union. Three young people from different EU countries will exhange culture and traditions with active local youth volunteers engaged within our community. With the help of expert personnel, they will gain knowledge in the field of: set up of a multi-media space; development-filming and editing of audiovisual materials; creating promotional materials; creating domestic and international traditional crafts and organising and participating in a public forum on volunteering. Volunteers will benefit in several ways from the project as they will gain specific knowledge and skills through education, mentoring and activities guided by competent and experienced leaders, which will be evidenced in their Youthpass-port, giving them a competitive edge in accessing the labour market upon return to their countries. These volunteers will bring to our community "a breath of fresh air" which will be good motivation for active participation of our youth in voluntary activities. Their visit will certainly be encouraging and well noticed in the social life of our little town.
