Multi-Actor Cooperation training at all levels for integrated sustainable development of the European viti-vini sector from the vineyard to the glass

The project will develop innovative training approaches and tools for the viticulture industry. The project targets a wide range of actors in viticulture, from farmers to distributors, with the aim of enhancing this agri-business sector and its related spin-off industries. A range of training materials for different users will be developed, and will be made available in a variety of formats including printed manuals, the internet, CD-Rom and DVD. Training will focus on four core topics: business development; sustainable agri-products; quality, security and health and the process of wine production from cultivation through to distribution. Training activities will target at least three different end-users from different groups in the industry and will take place in the partner countries. Training will involve 'training of trainers', distance learning, face-to-face seminars and a series of transnational workshops, seminars & conferences. Training is based on the idea of Multi Actor Cooperation - the MAC approach - which allows training scenarios to cross reference the needs of different industry actors, whilst also providing the individual trainee with a degree of autonomy through use of 'action based' training. Trainees will be asked to provide feedback on their training needs and on their satisfaction with the training offered. Ultimately, the project partnership aims to develop more integrated training in the viticulture industry on a European level. Dissemination will centre on the exchange of good practice between project partners and the promotion of the project's activities to the different target groups in the partner countries. Collaboration will also be sought with regional development support agencies with links to tourism and other sectors that directly and indirectly engage with the viticulture industry. Materials will be developed on DVD to support project dissemination.
