MP-E2C - A pedagogic model for second-chance schools

The MP-E2C project is intended for young school leavers in difficulty or school dropouts who fail to continue their education. It is proposed to develop pedagogic 'second chance' models.A study and evaluation of practices in the partner countries will be carried out and information on good practices will be exchanged where appropriate. A package of training modules will be created, intended both for trainees and teachers, instructors and supervisory staff. These modules (DE, FR) will be available on the Internet and their content will include oral and written communications, information on the new technologies, cultural education, psycho-motor education, and socio-occupational training. Language learning for mobility purposes is also envisaged, also for instructors. They will be sensitised to the problem of integrating young people, while the contacts with their correspondents in other countries should prove enriching. All the partners belong to networks of training/education institutions but also to European projects. This will facilitate dissemination of the results: a folder will be produced, and conferences, seminars and an Internet site will be organisedThe idea is to reconcile young people with the school system and to improve their basic education. Ultimately the number of young dropouts should be reduced.
