«Moving (in) Neighbourhoods»
Start date: Oct 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

“Moving (in) Neighborhoods”, is a Youth volunteering project that will take place from 3 September, 2014 till 3 of March, 2015 in Komotini.2 young persons from Cyprus will start to move in Komotini's neighborhoods while they are changing it. The concept of neighborhood includes both geographic (place-oriented) and social (people-oriented) components. Neighborhood is a word which describes a specific place where people are living, in a defined environment with similar needs and way of living. This is exactly our project priorities, environment and youth policies. Moving in Neighborhood means changing – improving neighborhood. Through non formal education methods and activities our project will re-define the habits and the needs of citizens in Komotini, underline the need to respect our environment. The volunteers will be the example for the whole community to follow as they will be moving in Komotini city center and improve public areas, greens zones, historical sites, while on the same time they will inform the citizens about their aims . In addition they will educate high school students through non formal activities about Human Rights, in weekly base. Moreover the volunteers will work on projects which aim to create a better life for youngsters, especially for those with fewer chances. Also they will spread the information about Erasmus + programs during many non formal activities and in our social Youth club every two weeks. That systematic work along with all the other activities of «System and G» are able to create a System of unofficial rules that will be adopted by our young citizens and change our neighborhood conditions in order to provide a better quality of life. In addition through inter-cultural activities the volunteers will present their culture, and through daily life they will be integrated in the Greek society.
