Our school’s project called 'Moving Forward Through Good Practices and Effective Teaching' which is foreseen to last a year includes a course facility. The course that our school intend to participate will be trained by NGO 'Motivated Learning For Everyone' institution in Barcelona,Spain during the term break in 2015/2016 academic year. Our School will be presented by 11 teachers in the educational facility named "Benchmarking and Good Practices:Fundamental Know-How for Effective Teaching”. Our teachers are from the departments of Foreign Language , Social Studies , Information Technology and Science. Both the type and the name of our school were changed in June 2014 and it became a Science High School , formerly Anatolian Teacher High School. Since the students with high examination scores are placed ; the expectations of our teaching staff , students and parents have increased considerably. The school management and the staff avoid following an ordinary educational policy through applying the latest and the most functional innovations and aim to be a role model for the other schools in the region. According to the results of the needs analysis questionnaire made for the teaching staff, it was found out that our teachers need to develop themselves in the areas of assessment and evaluation , problem solving in class, developing teaching materials , using methodology the most effective way. The teachers taking part in the facility are picked on a volunteer basis and also the criteria like being hardworking , having a good foreign language skill or being determined to learn, being experienced, capable to work in cooperation, eager to work in the areas ensued by the needs analysis have been taken into consideration. We have contacted with the training institution and started the necessary preliminaries. During preliminary work it has been decided to research European culture and innovative approaches in European education, read academic publishing on assessment-evaluation and newest teaching techniques, take part in the study ‘Good Models in Education’ which will be held in our region, report and present the studies we do in our school such as performance studies, project based learning methods, presentations, assessment and evaluation techniques, material preparation. The teachers, students and parents have been informed about the study. Together with the school administration, the County Education Directorate has organized informative meetings. As a result of this workshop, the educational attainments were decided to be shared through social media, local media and our school webside. We will find out the level of awareness by choosing a model classroom, applying the techniques with them and organizing questionnaires before and after the application. We are planning to have presentations with the contributions of the County Education Directorate and give information to the Research and Development Board of the town to overcome the prejudices about the European Culture and make the new techniques known by the school and the local teachers. All the benefits and experiences are going to be shared on social platforms. E-twinning activities are going to be activated. The long and short term contribution of the Project is making our school gain prestige with its experienced teachers and making our school to be a partner in other projects, interaction between cultures. We also aim at strengthening the concept of European Identity in the school strategy plan and contributing the teachers to improve themselves personally and in terms of their occupation. Our school will improve its educational standart through its vision and emphasize the importance of learning and teaching a foreign language. We will also participate in new projects bravely by using information technology. By introducing the European Culture, Our students will gain a universal point of view and , new applications and an educational global approach in other countries will be understood better and an attitude based on cooperation and learning not memorising will be adopted. As students and teachers who have the motto of “Be knowledgeable, Combine the technique and creativity, Be an entrepreneur and innovative” which are the base of innovational works, we will create awareness primarily in our school and town then in our city. In order to spread the effects of the Project, we have planned to share the Project through the social media, get it announced by local and national press and organize presentations in our school and the schools around us to increase the number of similar activities such as uploading photos and videos, putting the news about our Project on the website of the National Education Directorate. Our school aims to take part continuously in the educational activities with its staff appointed by our institution in order to reach the objectives which are defined by the European Union by the year 2020.
