Motiváljunk!
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Egri Bornemissza Gergely Vocational and Technical School is a secondary school where most students come from the disadvantaged region. Most of them have learning and behavioural problems and due to it they get the complete lack of learning and motivation for work. There is a great importance of catching up training, personal development and differentiated teaching in our school. This unmotivated behaviour can lead the early school leaving and because the upper grade students spend their practical training outside the school they may bring themselves so position in their training place in which at the end of the school term companies do not want to apply them for a worker. In order to change this situation it is necessary to increase the students' motivation and we think that the solution is the methodological renewal of our teachers. As our students foreign language competence is in the low level it is necessary a methodological development of the language teacher. The majority of students learn English so it is given the priority of the renewal of the members of the English working community. Our teachers are teachers who are eager to achieve the strategic goals of the institution and they are ready to train themselves and develop their competencies. However, the hindering factors of it the low level of foreign language knowledge, as well as the application of ICT illiteracy. The preparatory part of the project we do measurements which we can compare with the results achieved at the end of the project. The courses, the selection of participants in the project are management tasks. The trips, the organization of accommodations are the responsible for the participants. According to preliminary information, we are planning the following methodology training courses for our employees: Managing Diversity – Teaching Mixed Ability Classes: this course focuses on dealing with mixed ability classes and special needs students Encouraging Creative Thinking: Developing tools and techniques for innovative problem solving. ICT In Education Course: Improving key competences and ICT knowledge. Innovative Approaches to Teaching: this course improves the teaching and learning of languages and promotes the EU's broad linguistic diversity and intercultural awareness. Fluency and English Language Development for Teachers: This new course is designed for teachers who wish to improve their knowledge of the English Language as well as their ability to use English more confidently and accurately. For teachers of English: Teaching through 21st Century Methodologies: The course focuses on improving English language abilities of teachers and on using modern methodologies suitable for development of 21st century skills. Language Teaching Methodology Refresher courses for Secondary and Higher Levels Teaching: Language development activities with the emphasis on oral fluency and generating increased confidence in speaking. Our goal is to achieve and maintain long-term results. Experience gained abroad not only our students benefit from by taking over the colourful and variety of new methods in the classroom but also colleagues who obtain additional professional knowledge. So the level of training, which is expected as deficit qualifications in our county, will also increase and these trades are very high demand for companies in Eger and nearby. As not only foreign language teachers are involved in the training it can also motivate other colleagues and it serves as an example for students to follow. To be able to stand on the labour market students have to learn a good profession. If they leave the classroom earlier without qualification they will have very little chance for employment. On the other hand armed with appropriate language skills and professions they are more likely to succeed in life. And they can gain foreign work experience which they can exploit at home perfectly. In order to provide it to them we have to support teachers with competitive teaching methods, language skills, appropriate attitudes and international experience. The publication of the results of the project experience can be seen through the school website, eTwinning, the local press in demonstration lessons and on information days, open days, professional workshops and international project meetings as well.
