The overall objective of the project is to return local folk-arts and handicrafts their role as an important part of cultural and economic life in the region by means of advertising them among tourists and visitors, as well as establishing tight cooperation links and experience exchange between Hungarian and Ukrainian handicraftsmen.Specific objectives of the project include the following: Establishment of permanent co-operation network between Ukrainian and Hungarian handicraftsmen; Increasing awareness of the local handicraftsmen about the legal issues of their activity, including state registration of entrepreneurship, commercial activity, financial and other reporting issues; Increasing awareness of the wider public and visitors to the region about the unique local handicrafts and folk-art in the region; Contribution to commercial interest of the handicraftsmen, rising of economic welfare of the local handicraftsmen. Expected Results: Expected project results include the following: 2 handicrafts fairs will be held (1 organised in Berehovo, Zakarpatska oblast, another co-organized in Penyige, Hungary); App. 8 000 people visited the local cultural events organized by the project; 2 experience exchange trips will be held for local handicraftsmen (one to Hungary, another to Ukraine covering border regions); 2000 pieces of Tourist Handbooks will be published; 80 handicraftsmen will be directly involved into the project activities; 200 handicraftsmen will be provided with legal assistance regarding state registration, reporting, other related issues; 3000 leaflets about the project, 4 press-releases, 4 articles in local newspapers published; 11 banners produced; 130 t-shirts and 130 caps for PR purposes procured; 4 big board ads mounted; 1 video clip shot; 1 web-page designed; 1 comprehensive analytical study of local handicrafts held.
