MORPH - Management Of Risks and Practices in Healthcare

MORPH addresses both the need to put in place risk management practices, thus contributing to a reduction in litigation, and the need for improvement in the delivery of actual healthcare. The project will produce a training video, interactive CD, training guidelines (in the form of a collection of essays) summary information leaflets (in three partner languages) and web-based information for EU-wide healthcare trainees, professionals and those involved in training in healthcare risk management. The aim being to endow in such groups, an awareness of the issues involved in clinical risk management in order to allow them to competently perform their tasks and provide the best patient care. This partnership comprises two EU countries (IRL, UK) where demand development in this area is already high, and two associated countries (BG, PL) where recent health reforms suggest excellent timing for such forward-thinking development. The results of the above activity are to be distributed through a variety of electronic and conventional media via existing partner networks (departments of health, healthcare organisations, etc). Further awareness-raising activities are also planned to include presence at national/transnational seminars, release of articles to relevant press and journals and use of radio broadcast.
