monomyths – communication tools for NGOs and start-ups is a training course financed by the Erasmus+ programme that addresses a key social factor: active citizenship through communication and multimedia tools. The Monomyths training course wants to form a number of 24 European youth workers that are involved in communication and personal branding projects for youngsters and in the same time being part of third sector organizations, public bodies or private sector actors. Because the field of communication is very dynamic and the practices can be different from country to country, the technology and digital tools are evolving very fast, so we need a constant update, to provide the best solutions to youth workers from NGOs. For this reason, in each project we’ve tried to bring innovative approaches, after consulting specialists from big NGOs and advertising agencies. The objective of the training course is to design a creative and accessible platform in English language that connects NGOs and youth workers interested in communication projects and DEOR techniques that will include resources, non-formal education tools that increase new media literacy, digital competences and communication in social media for NGOs, youth workers and end-beneficiaries (youngsters)The specific training objectives are the following:▪ To develop training curricula to be explored by European youth workers with the theme „tailoring communication” focused on new media, digital competences and strategic communication and that is thought through a mixture of non-formal games and technology use.▪ To create a communication platform that includes a network (where NGOs and start-ups can exchange communication tools and resources) and an online library (gathering educational materials that youth workers can access in order to guide their youngsters.)▪ To develop awareness at European level among NGOS regarding instruments and methods of creativity activation among youngsters. ▪ To create a policy paper that encourage the validation of non-formal education (especially media literacy)▪ Facilitate the exchange of know-how and methods between European NGOs members that works with youngsters on projects related to personal branding, communication and media 2.0- To strengthen cross-sectoral networking between NGOs, authorities and private companies (comm. agencies)Our project links to the following objectives of Erasmus+:General:-enhancing Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) uptake in teaching and learning, through the support of learning and access to open educational resources (OER) for the 24 participants from 8 countries-the development of European cooperation in the field of youth (2010-2018 framework)-the promotion of the international dimension of youth work and of the impact at this levelFor the Youth field:-the development of the competences of those involved in youth work The methodology used is coming from the non-formal education sphere and comprises the following: Integrative methods, creative methods, Intercultural learning (ICL), Open space, Learning by doing, Reflection and self-reflection and evaluation.
