Prienai „Revuona“ basic school has got the widest variety of educational programmes in the region (9 different training programmes) and is concerned on individual abilities and needs of the learners and continuity of the learning process. Also the school has a Department for pupils with special needs, which is attended by children with mental disabilities from 3 municipalities. The school gained present status in 2012 while the Productive training programme was started only in September 2015, so school hasn’t got enough experience in working with students of different abilities and needs. According to the conclusions of external evaluation of school made in 2015 and strategic plan of activities for 2016-2018, the school has been obligated to improve quality of education and learning by improvement of every lesson; be able to implement innovative learning methods and tools; organize teaching and learning process properly in order to allow every learner to achieve success and make progress. International experience and practical application of the latest training strategies in different countries is also very important for teachers. Taking part in the project “Let’s change teaching“ the school community wants to learn new teaching methods and use them for improvement of quality of the lesson, apply information technologies and encourage informative thinking in teaching different subjects, communicate with the colleagues from foreign countries, gain experience and share it with teachers at school, improve English speaking and communicating skills, enrich multicultural sophistication.The activities of the project let raise qualification of participants by taking part in different seminars and courses. 5 mobilities for 2-5 teachers and trainers are going to be organized. During them pedagogical staff will get possibility to study designing and implementing innovative teaching methods in the classroom while working with children in mixed ability classes. They will learn more about integration of information technologies into training process, application of the method of exploration - based learning, will enrich their theoretical knowledge and will be able to test variety of different methods and activities suitable for teaching children with special needs. Participants of the project are chosen according their pedagogical, methodical, project development and sharing experience, ability of working in a team, English speaking and communicating skills. In order to ensure better management of the project a person with bigger pedagogical and managerial experience will take part in every mobility. After seminars all participants are going to share their experience in the workshops for teachers of different subjects, present all received materials for school community, and allow teachers from other schools of the region to know more about innovations in education. The school will have possibility to find partners in other countries and share experience with them.Implementing of activities of the project will allow the participants to gain new knowledge, skills and competences that are essential for implementing of different educational programmes. The results of the project will help to implement successfully the strategical plan of school, the main goal of which is to raise the level of teaching and learning by improving quality of the lesson and educational environment, by making the relations between the community members better, by developing partnership with other institutions.
