Research project relates to the “spread content” type and implies organization of workshops, round tables and a final conference on relevant issues related to the theme of the project. In the framework of the project transformations of modern European identity will be studied in the context of the EU integration processes in different aspects including social and cultural values. Cultural differences are one of the main issues in the processes of the EU integration especially nowadays when Europe is faced with the problem of adaptation a large number of migrants from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. From this point of view the project is aimed to strengthen comprehension of importance of cross-cultural and inter-religious dialogue in the EU integration processes context. Regionalization is opposed to the process of globalization and it begins to grow at the present time, when it became clear that along with positive aspects, globalization has also negative impact, namely, the destruction of traditional culture, scrapping of national identity models, dilution of values, etc. The problem of general civic European identity formation has its own regional and local features. The main goal of the project will be to consider the formation of modern European identity in different countries of the EU against the background of the European integration. The impact of our project will be focused on the North-West region of Russia, especially Saint-Petersburg and will include dissemination of the project’s results through website, series of articles, information booklets, round tables, workshops and a final conference on the project’s theme. The main result of the conference will be e-book with materials presented at the conference.
