Model of Youth Religion Tolerance

“Model of Youth Religion Tolerance” project will be held in Rustavi, Georgia and its goal is to increase awareness about religious tolerance and help young people to be better prepared to advocate for religious freedom – that individuals have the right to hold and practice their beliefs that differ from other beliefs.The objectives through which Project will conduct its goal are: -To create positive experience for young people; -For young people to participate in workshops and conduct specific activities pertaining to religious freedom and tolerance; -To increase religious tolerance among youth by visiting different meeting-houses; -To share different beliefs and religious vows; -To encourage young people to become more committed in their home communities to promoting religious tolerance.It will be youth exchange and include 4 countries: Georgia, Turkey, Armenia and the Czech Republic. Each country will have 6 participants plus 1 group leader. Georgia will have two leaders; one of them will be responsible for the programme activities, and another one - for technical issues. Taking into account that participants will be representatives of different religions, religious dialogue will be more effective and productive.Project will include 3 main components: workshops, visits and film-making. Participants will participate in workshops about religious tolerance and public leadership and activism. They will be able to share their own beliefs and religious vows and to visit different meeting-houses that exist in Georgia (Orthodox, Muslim, Jewish, Protestant, Catholic and etc.). Finally participants will provide their own movies about religious tolerance which will be spread through social media and Internet.Regional Association of Youth Initiatives (Georgia) will be hosting organization and Alternatif Genclik Calismalari Dernegi (Turkey), European Youth Centre Břeclav (the Czech Republic), Armenian Progressive Youth (Armenia) – sending organizations.
