Mobilny uczeń - dobry pracownik
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The participants of the project will be 32 students from Zespół Szkół in Poręba who are learning to be IT and logistics technicians. They will be divided into two project groups, 16 students each. In order to lower the costs of participation, the project includes only one-trade groups. We do not intend to include first form students in the project due to their low level of theoretical knowledge. The project “ A Mobile Student – A Good Worker “ is aimed at meeting many participants’ needs , the most important of which are: the need of in-service practical training in logistics and IT, the need of learning and comparing the forms and methods of work in Spanish companies as well as improving the language skills. The project is also aimed at meeting the participants social needs: openness to different culture, learning the history, traditions and culture of Spain. The project will also enhance their motivation to learn, to increase their self-confidence and to improve their mobility on the job market. In response to the participants’ personal needs we direct the project to those students for whom the fact of living in a small community, in families of poor material situation, is a barrier to the achievement of a satisfactory level of professional goals. The project is also a response to the local logistics and IT companies requirements. They are looking for employees with vocational and language experience gained in EU countries whose economy is on a higher level of development than the Polish one. The main partner in the project is euroMind, the institution which organizes the participants’ stay in Spain. The training program for the students of both trades has been prepared together with euroMind on the basis of the students’ needs which have been diagnosed by our school. On the basis of the approved program of training euroMind recommended two institutions, the SAFA vocational school and the Higher Institute of Technology ADA, both of which will carry out the training at the highest level. The general aim of the project is to increase the vocational competence and to gain the skills which will help the participants find employment after graduation. The specific goals of the project are: broadening of the knowledge and mastering of the skills in the scope of planning, implementation and management of a company’s IT infrastructure, gaining experience in the organization of work , planning and performance of a logistics company services. The students will improve their knowledge of English and will learn the basics of Spanish. The project will help them overcome language barriers , it will increase their creativity and will make them aware of being part of the European Community. They will become conscious of the necessity to be mobile on the job market. The participants will be divided into two groups. The first one will be logistics technicians who will learn the operation procedures of ports and terminals, in December of 2015. IT technicians will go to Spain in April 2016 to learn three-dimensional graphics. The participants will be chosen according to the clearly stated criteria of recruitment regulations. Prior to departure the students will be thoroughly prepared to take part in the project (each group will take a 12-hour course of language and culture classes and a 4-hour pedagogic course). The participants will sign contracts and their insurance, reservation and purchase of tickets as well as transportation will be arranged. During the training period the school will be carrying out continuous monitoring and supervision of the project. The program of the training has been worked out jointly by the school and the agent institution, and has received a positive opinion from partner organizations The program meets the students’ expectations. The results of the project will be disseminated on the school website, in local press and on the school blog. The evaluation of the activities will be presented at meetings with the employers active in the town and county area. The conclusions will be used for the preparation of the next training projects.
