The project "Mobile worker on the Islands and on the continent" assumed the implementation of foreign internships for 40 students of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year acquiring knowledge and trainings in the following professions:economist, IT specialist and nutrition and catering services.10 IT specialists and 10 economists were accepted by the organization in London: ADC College;10 economists and 10 caterers went to Frankfurt to Internationaler Bund.ADC organised interships in companies,retail and service places and in Germany students served interships in IB,which is an educational and vocational training centre.Each internship lasted three weeks allowing the participants to attain the objectives of the project:improve professional skills and deepen the language competence.The participants had a thorough theoretical knowledge acquired at school.The internships helped to improve the attractiveness of the professions and made it possible to gain experience in a foreign labor market.Participants developed significantly their language abilities while using the language in everyday situations in the area of their professional interests.The students proved themselves in new work environment what was confirmed in the references written by foreign employers and certificates prepared by the host and the home organizations and by the Europass Mobility Certificate.Participants’ CVs enriched through participating in professional internships increasing their chances of employment on the domestic labor market. Actions:The project started with an open lesson aiming at making the students familiar with the project's objectives and the principles of recruitment.Negotiations were performed,the rules for the implementation of the internship were determined and then the partnership agreements were signed with the host organizations.The recruitment was carried out.It consisted of language tests and tests checking vocational knowledge of each profession, followed by interviews.The next step was the preparation of the participants: language classes, historical and cultural classes, workshops with employers and the classes with the school counselor.The transport, accommodation, meals and insurance were organized. Before leaving for an internship, meetings with parents and participants of the project were performed in order to inform about the details of the mobility. Internships took place in March and May / June 2015 and were monitored continuously by the tutors accompanying students abroad as well as a coordinator in the country.After the implementation of each of mobility, students completed the reports of participants, had evaluation tests to verify the foreign language knowledge acquired during the internships, and also had the professional competence tests. They also received certificates of the host organization confirming participation in the internship and letters of reference from employers.In October 2015 there was a meeting summarizing the project, during which the participants presented their skills acquired during the internship to the local employers, city authorities and delegates from partner cities in Germany and Sweden.During the meeting, the students received Europass Mobility Certificates,the certificates of home institution confirming participation in the internship together with the T-shirts with the logo of Erasmus +. Results:Students improved significantly their language skills thanks to direct contact with native speakers staying at host families abroad.They found how to use the theoretical knowledge acquired at school, widened the IT knowledge and skills,made themselves familiar with the organization of work in line with European standards, acquired the ability to cope in a new environment and new situations while living and working with people of different cultures, beliefs and skin color.They increased self-confidence and professional competence. Benefits:Students acquired new skills and knowledge while language and culture preparation exceeding school education,they enriched CVs with documents confirming participation in an internship abroad,expanded vocational skills limited to the local market, broke down the communication barriers,increased territorial coverage in search of work. Long-term benefits:Professional competence and linguistic and interpersonal skills acquired during the internship allowed the formation of a valuable professional, highly valued in the domestic and foreign labor market: having the theoretical knowledge acquired in school, proved practical knowledge gained during the internship,but especially conscious of his language and career opportunities,having a rich professional portfolio and open to job offers both at home and abroad.The school strengthened cooperation with partner organizations,improved the quality of vocational training and increased competitiveness as a center of vocational education and has established a long-term cooperation with local employers.
