MOBILNY EUROPRAKTYK
Start date: Nov 1, 2014, End date: Oct 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project of vocational training is addressed to the students of Technical Secondary School of Nutrition and Catering Service (TŻiUG) and Technical Secondary School of Landscape Architecture (TAK) doing their vocational training in the real working environment with employers. The choice of the industries is justified by the current needs of the labour market in Poland and Germany. In both countries there is a need for semi-qualified staff in the catering service and landscape architecture sector. The renewed development of the catering service and the landscape architecture sector can be observed for some years, after the recession caused by the economic crisis in Europe in the recent years. Through the traineeship abroad we want to show young people that the professions can be a great opportunity for their development and an asset in the European labour market. The participants of the project will be the second and third-year students of TŻiUG and TAK. Some of the participants are underage and require supervision of an entitled person. The enrolment of participants will be conducted in the aforementioned classes in line with the established recruitment criteria. The completion dates of the 2-week traineeships have been planned and agreed with the host partner and are as follows: I edition – school year 2014/2015, II edition – school year 2015/2016. I edition: group I – Technical Secondary school of Nutrition and Catering Services – IV-V. 2015; group II - Technical Secondary School Of Landscape Architecture – IV-V. 2015; group III – Technical Secondary school of Nutrition and Catering Services – IV-V. 2016; group IV - Technical Secondary School Of Landscape Architecture – IV-V. 2016; Each group will involve 10 students. Before they go, the participants will do a German course to provide them with basic language communication skills connected with their profession and interpersonal communication workshops will be conducted to enable the participants to make new contacts easily and to adapt to the new and different environment. The project will involve young people who are threatened with social exclusion, come from small towns and villages where access to varied educational offers is limited and who do not have the opportunity to increase and improve professional knowledge and opportunities of personal development due to the fact that they are economically and culturally disprivileged by their background. In this situation the participation in the traineeship project is a perfect way to improve their skills in adaptation to vocational and cultural environments, in which they will find themselves and which they will create in the future. The main goals of the projects are: professional development through getting vocational experience, their personal development, the improvement of their language skills, broadening their minds, learning the working culture in Germany. The expected result will be quality and quantity improvement of general European mobility, the improvement of knowledge and qualification, learning working aspects of different cultural and linguistic conditions, the improvement of creativity and introduction to lifelong learning, as well as drawing up glossaries of Polish-German phrases used in catering service and landscape architecture and a list of recipes and dishes the participants have learnt. The beneficiary also expects consolidating the position of the school on the local market and the growth in interest in the school due to increasing its attractiveness and the quality of education. The traineeship is supposed to constitute the integral part of the vocational training path in the country and is supposed to be held at a specialized vocational training centre in Germany. The skills learned in the course of the traineeship should benefit the participants on local as well as on the European labour market. The traineeship will involve 40 students divided into 4 groups of 10 people ( 2 groups of TŻiUG students and 2 groups of TAK students). The traineeship will take place in the specialized centres of the Vocational Training Promotion Unit in Potsdam. The implementation of the project will also influence students’ awareness of EU projects and European values and increase their interest in future formal and informal educational activities in the Mobility Program. The beneficiary has established cooperation with the host partner independently, without intermediary institutions.
