Start date: Dec 15, 2014, End date: Dec 14, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project responded to the need of preparing young people to the challenge which is the start and developing careers in an internationally related labour market and to the need of involving teachers in training at the international level. Modern conditions of forest management require cross-border cooperation. It is necessary to raise the qualifications and experience exchange in transnational teams. In Germany, students had the opportunity to experience working in different cultural environment and the need of practical use of the German language, including the use of technical terminology. They had the opportunity to learn about other methods of forest management (typical for Bavaria), and different ownership structure of forest areas and to learn about the latest technical solutions in the field of sourcing, harvesting and timber export, as forest management in Germany is one of the leaders in Europe. To increase the complexity of the impact, the project included activities both for the students and the teachers. Three weeks of practice in Germany for students allowed them to improve professional skills, experience new methods and work culture. It required the use of German language and self-dealing in the new cultural situation, which increased intercultural and linguistic competences, as well as practical skills in international environment. What is more 5-day training for teachers let exchange experiences with the German institution. As a result, they learnt new methods of teaching and motivation to implement them. In Germany, the system of cooperation on the line school-economy is considered as one of the most efficient in Europe. The staff has expanded their intercultural competencies and the ability to implement EU projects. Polish and German schools strengthen their cooperation and got to know better their training conditions, which will result new activities in the future. An agreement on cooperation between the schools has been signed. The co-operation is also planned to include training destinations in both Forest Districts in Milicz and Lohr.
