Mobility project for better professional competences to be acquired in company placements in EU
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

We have several excellent partnerships with institutions in many countries, with which we have regularly accomplished a joint program before, for example with the German highly experienced partner institution. With this current application we are paddling into a new area, we want to expand our partnership relations and to get to know and to acquaint our students with the culture and work ethic of a new country. Therefore, we are planning the professional practice of our English language learner students (12-12 people) to Braga, Portugal and Bergamo, Italy in different time periods and affecting different professional groups. The target group travelling to Portugal within the sections of the secondary school consists of trade marketing and logistic administrator students, who, after the approval of the project, followed by a selection and preparation process can participate in a four-week professional practice in Braga, Portugal, between 1-31 July 2016. Herewith, the 12 participant students can accomplish their compulsory, summer professional practice, which is going to be acknowledged by our school too. There are four school-leaver logistic students among them; for them it is only one step to enter the world of work, thus they can get an especially important working practice and useful language knowledge. The other two groups travelling to different areas, similarly to the previous years’ practice, would like to accomplish the mobility program in March 2017 during the school term, including their compulsory working practice too. During this period our teachers and students are the least burdened, they have sufficient time available to prepare for the closing of the school year, and passing the necessary exams. To Italy a catering trade group (12 people) would like to travel, to Germany we are selecting students (14 people) from different trade groups: bricklayer, electrician, shop assistant, information technology, confectioner and waiter. After consulting the intermediary institutions, it became clear that their practical training suitable for the trades can contribute greatly to the development of the students’ communication, professional and social competencies. When contacting with the partner institutions they assured us that through their extensive relations, they can provide suitable practical workplaces in a working environment which gives our students many opportunities for (further) development. Therefore, the main idea of the project is that the motivating role of the foreign environment may be important in these professions, if the students are thinking of working abroad later. An important aspect is the practice of the professional foreign language that later can be a fundamental condition for filling a position. As a holder of the title of a Perpetual Eco-School our mission is the education for the behaviour patterns of the sustainable development, which we are also planning to achieve in case of the present project. During their foreign practice the students can get acquainted with the country-specific environmentally conscious approaches, Eco-technologies, which after their return they can transmit to their teachers, fellow students. They will receive a EUROPASS certificate of the completed working practice that can be helpful later on during the job search.
