The project 'Mobility Nordland - Staff' is a consortium application with the following members: 1) The regional Department of Education, Nordland County2) Three upper secondary schools: Mosjoen, AustLofoten and Sortland. The background is a unified wish to incorporate mobility and internationalisation as a tool promoting in-service training for teachers. Despite several attempts to encourage schools to write their own applicaitons, the results have been poor.Hence this initiative to develop a joint pilot project. All parts have plans and inititiatives for improving teacher staff competence. The target groups for this project are teachers of French, German, English, sciences (Physics/Tecknology). National statistics and the Nordland County Council 'State-of-the-Union'-report for 2015, shows that students in the county scores lower than the national average. This goes especially for English. This trend has to be challenged.Activities will be structured courses, especially for teachers of French and German, and shadowing experiences for teachers of all subjects. Shadowing will also involve Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methology. Estimated results are more enthusiastic teachers, providing better learning opportunites for their students and finally better end results. On the organisational level we envisage an impact from the mobility experiences on the ongoing prosesses/revision of in-service training plans and schedules.
