Mobilité Professionnelle pour les lycées du Sud cantal en Europe
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Lycée Monnet-Mermoz is situated in the South of Cantal in the Auvergne Region. This region is a rural area surrounded by low altitude mountains where the city of Aurillac's population lowered from 35000 to 30000 inhabitants. The economic context suffers from this remoteness which makes ways of communication relatively ineffective. Students often comes from small rural junior high schools (less than 150 pupils). Our school is at the same time a general knowledge, technical, vocational and higher education institution with 1180 students altogether. This landlocked situation is a basic reason for us to offer our learners a more dynamic context. The academic indicators concerning the professional insertion of our vocational students points at their lack of ambition and of mobility which leads them to choose training sections which are near their home - most of them look for a job in their village or in the town nearby. Our objectives to build a collaborative spirit involving the educative community (parents, students, elected representatives, companies,...) and our partners of the mobility projects consist in : - inscribing the trainings in our school within the social and economic context of a dynamic Europe to improve employability. - getting people involved in the preparation of professional mobility, in monitoring groups, whether they are learners or staff members taking part to the elaboration of technical teaching contents in collaboration with professionals or receiving partners. Our aim is to make learners actors of their mobility, getting them to make a diary of their journey, in addition to their placement report, and to communicate using modern ways of communication (DVD, Skype, Whatts app), and to report to their fellow learners when they are back. We want to create a synergy around VET projects involving VET staff members and receiving partners, particularly regarding security and regulations in the place of work, whatever the geographical context, taking into account past experiences of mobility. A good and efficient relationship between VET institutions and companies makes it necessary to articulate training contents (validated in placement reports and the Europass Mobility) and collaboratives networks (companies, receiving institutions, elected representatives, European institutions).
