Mobilité professionnelle à l'étranger
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our students in final year of their Baccalauréat Professionnel (Vocational Baccalaureate) in industrial machinery maintenance and business studies who have chosen to sign up for the European Section, are given the opportunuity to do a training period abroad, in Ireland, Danemark and Poland. This intership lasts 3 or 4 weeks and is accomplished in the final year of their degree. Our objective is to offer this exprience to 24 students from the different Europeans sections available in our vocational High School. Thay are aged from 16 to 18. Nowadays, when mobility and long life training are so important our students who come from divers sociocultural backgrounds, fall within the scope. And, because of evolutions of the job marker, they must prove they are flexible and mobile. For example, in our local labour pool, many international companies are set up (UniLever, Saint Gobain, Plastic Omnium, Volvo Trucks..) Consequently, our students can be requested to do missions in foreign countries, to take part in videoconferencing or to answer the phone. Therefore, the necessity to have the best command of understanding and speaking a foreign languague, in our case, English, is obvious. To reach successfully these aims, it's necessary to provide an adequate budget which would include the different fees and expense related to the training period abroad, in order to help the families. Our partners committ themselves in welcoming and training our students according to the specifications related to our students' skills base. These spectifications have been set up with the teaching teams and the industries' managers. We thought that allowing our students to have specific lessons on the spot would help them adapt more easily to their work placement. The schools will provide English lessons and propose sight-seeing and cultural activities, as well. The students will, then, join their companies (shops or industries). At the end of the training period, the participants will be assessed on their professional skills by, both, their CLIL treacher and the supervisors in the companies, according to the frames of the reference of the vocational baccalaureates they will take (industrial machinery maintenance and business studies). They will sit for the 2 different oral exams for the baccalaureate: the Mobility option and the European Section specific test. In parallel, they will also prepare the Europro Certificate. This experience enables our students to improve their langage, cultural and professional skills. Being exposed to unknwon environment and culture also helps them to build their European citizenship dimension, their self-reliance and adaptability. Moreover, this window on the international aspect gives a positive and dynamic image to our vocational high school. This project is part of our will to increase our international contacts and to develop the cultural dimension of our school. It is an unavoidable element that our education gives to our students.
