Mobilité pour une Ouverture Valorisant l'Insertion et la Découverte des Apprentissages
Start date: Nov 1, 2016, End date: Oct 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Following the three training periods abroad, we are contemplating today widened and richer aims for our students.Without putting aside the cultural and social aspects of European countries, our expectations are focused upon other basic concerns of our high school students such as preventing the dropping out and school failure among them. We are deeply convinced that only a strong and growing commitment of our students in their global studies will have an impact on the rate of success through a work placement abroad. We are deeply aware that there are a few scholarship applications. Nevertheless, our project keeps enriching every year: two “pro EFP” in 2013, 6 students abroad in 2014, 8 in 2015, 9 students and 2 “pro EFP” in 2016, and 10 students with an accompanying person and 2 “pro EFP” asked for in 2017.Students being part of this project are selected during the first year of their professional studies. Our requirements are based on school criteria defined by the teachers’ board: school results, professional involvement, working on one’s own, sense of responsibilities, a willingness to have a training abroad, being serious and reliable, eagerness to share and to find out other cultures, being able to live in communities. Moreover, complying with these criteria has become harsher as we have been more and more demanding as far as their training abroad is concerned. The situations and the activities linked to the diverse training fields will have to cope with the training level of their diploma, while performing the professional tasks as well as watching the work done and improving technical skills and abilities. As a result, such a professional and personal work experience will enable the students to gain in self confidence and to acquire a better knowledge of the job. What’s more, the free time will allow the students to open up onto the social, cultural and artistic backgrounds of a European country: all these being essential to achieve an Erasmus project. Our approach will rely on different persons: the coordinator and the Erasmus referent. The term’s meeting of the follow up team will inform, evaluate, anticipate and deal with any problem from the start of the project to its completion. There will be a thorough conduct of administrative and financial files as well as a technical support to our partners. This matter will be ensured by the follow up team supervised by the administrator. Two main benefits from this experience are expected. On the one hand, the participants will increase their own professional skills (a better accuracy in their techniques and abilities), they will be asked to be more willing to work abroad, to adapt themselves to different situations and thanks to this experience they will increase their opportunity to find a job.On the other hand, we expect the participants to develop a sense of European and democratic conscience, a sense of European citizenship and a better knowledge of another culture. It is obvious that they will improve their abilities to speak another language. As far as the foreign host companies are concerned we aim at strengthening the existing links with them. Therefore these host companies will have the opportunity to get some new insight in training and be more effective through a sharing of contributions. This will only be possible thanks to a European cooperation. Thus we are planning to create a dynamic in this project by the opening of a European class (DNL a French diploma meaning a foreign language national diploma passed in 2015 by a teacher in order to be able to teach in those classes). Meanwhile we will set up school cooperation between both countries. All this will generate a synergy effect among the participants and their families thanks to lasting mobility and an opening onto the European Union. This will imply new developments in international cooperation.
