Mobilita-súčasť vzdelávacieho programu v odbore zdravotnícky asistent na SZŠ v Humennom
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project aims to implement international professional internships of students of the Secondary Nursing School in Humenné. Placement participants are students studying a care assistant field of study. Total of 20 selected students aged 17-19 years participate in two weeks of professional clinic training in contracted medical facilities and social services of our project partners, which are two secondary nursing schools in the Czech Republic (Třebíč, Ostrava). The main objective of the project is to allow the students of our school to participate at international mobility with the aim of improving the level of development of their knowledge, skills and competencies with subsequent full recognition of achievements in learning mobility. Placement participants will also be students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and from families with weaker financial background. Grand support programmes of European Union will be great help for such families. Implementation of mobility will positively affect the quality of the educational programme and teaching process at our school , promotes positive school evaluation and develops further experience of the school in building its internationalization. We plan to implement four turnrounds of two-week mobility. Twelve students of the third grade in two turnrounds will undergo two weeks of compulsory continuous professional training at the end of the school year at workplaces and departments of the Municipal Hospital in Ostrava. Professional clinic training of the students in both turnrounds will be focused on strengthening the professional knowledge and skills, acquiring new knowledge, practising new skills and competence development in the context of practice implementation at the departments and other specialized institutions, which they would not attend in the hospital in the seat of our school. Eight 4th grade students will participate in two turnrounds of internships in Třebíč in two social service facilities. Objectives of undergoing the professional training in 4 students will be focused on developing new knowledge and training of new special skills and competencies necessary for providing the care for the bio-psycho-social needs of clients with Alzheimer's dementia, and 4 students for the needs of clients in the geriatric age. We expect the acquisition of genuine knowledge and skills in applying elements of basal stimulation in care of clients, in the implementation of ergotherapy and rehabilitation programmes (e.g. canistherapy, hippotherapy, music therapy), and implementation of activation activities. In all turnrounds students will work on designated establishments, will be members of the nursing team performance and implement nursing care according to the focus of each department. Within the stay they will visit other specialized departments. In each turnround the students will be provided a support by their accompanying teachers of professional training from the Secondary Nursing School, which will also extend their experience in project implementation and will support the development of their professional competencies. We expect that the implementation of professional clinic internships will be seen by students as one of the components of a quality education programme that will increase their motivation for achieving good learning results and that they will demonstrate achieved knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies in further studies. Passing mobility enables personal development of students who may be the first time outside the family, make new friends and contacts, get to know new cities and regions. The project uses elements ECVET. In the Memorandum of Understanding we have defined learning outcomes of participants, the roles of project partners, which will be given in the Learning Agreement. We have defined the methods, system and evaluation criteria of the level of achieved learning outcomes and procedures for recognition and validation. Placement participants will be given Europass Mobility. Formal recognition of achieved learning outcomes enables them to present themselves with the portfolio of documented learning outcomes with their future employer or in the next level of education in Slovakia and European Union countries. Results of the project will serve other students and teachers, will improve the image of the school within the region, could stimulate the motivation of prospective students to study in the field of a care assistant at our school.
