Mobilisierung des Personals zur Erweiterung des bilingualen Unterrichts (Geschichte) zur Internationalisierung
Start date: Jul 18, 2016, End date: Jul 17, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Attaching great importance to differentiated information at the secondary level (Year 8 and 9) of our school, we would like to extend our choice of subjects with bilingual classes. So far we can only offer Geography as a bilingual course, but in addition to that we plan to include History in our bilingual curriculum in future.Bilingual education taught in English makes an important contribution to past-school education and working life. The use of English in authentic situations might encourage discussion among students.Dealing with historic topics and issues could reveal different points of view to students regarding British culture and Britons. This is an essential demand of teaching History. First of all, intercultural education will be enhanced and more attention will be drawn to European integration as well as globalization. Both of the applicants are History teachers and they would like to improve their general command of the English language and to learn how to make bilingual History more attractive to students. The details of this project supported by the European Union will be published on the home page of our school. Teachers and parents will be kept informed in staff meetings and special workshops. This project will become a permanent part in our school curriculum for teaching in History bilingually.
