In the project called Youth and Sustainable there will be 40 young people from The Netherlands and Poland. They will be from different schools and backgrounds including Youth Care Center where there are activities for children threatened with the community exclusion. The aim of the project will be creation and presentation of an artistic programme whose main theme among others is going to besustainable development ( the 7 th Millenium Goal ) that is recycling and seggregation of rubbish. Developing a sense of solidarity and responsibility for the environment in which we live and promotion of proper social attitudes among young people by using aspects of cultural identity are other important factors of the project. The artistic activities include creation of a musical, collective writing of the script, directing, role preparation, scenography, choreograpic lay-outs, making costumes from waste and ecological materials and eventually the show which will be performed for the parents and invited guests. These events will enable integration, cultural exchange, development of creativity and ability to cooperate. Eduational activities: Workshops about recycling and an exhibition of toys made by the participants will allow them to understand the value of Ensuring environmental sustainability, appreciate the segregation of rubbish and the need of recycling. A town game, a visit in the park and a chemical laboratory in one of Pulawy institutes, a visit in a school of technical/chemical profile, the orfanage and the youth care center, an excursion to Lublin and the museum in Majdanek, sightseeing in Warsaw- all these attractions will allow young people to exchange their experiences, get to know the history and the social and cultural backgrounds. They will at the same time allow the teenagers to find the way of developing European identity. Including in the project young people who have smaller opportunities will increase their self esteeme. All these planned activities are meant to develop the community spirit and to promote tolerance among young people as well as teach cooperation and strenghten the social bond of young people. Thanks to cooperative work such values as solidarity, democracy, friendship, ability to work in a group, mutual trust and partnership will be strenghtened. The educational process will be achieved by methods of unformal education: integrative activities and theatrical and dance workshops. The participants of the project will spend 8 days together getting to know each other in different situations at Polish homes to which Polish teenagers will invite their Dutch friends. The whole project will be documented in films and photographs. The prepared materials will be given as gifts to the participants and local youth as well as shown on websites of our institution and the Town Hall. The film will be shown by the local television.
