Młody informatyk w europejskiej sieci
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The sending organization of the project is the Complex of Technical Schools in Braniewo (Warmia-Masuria Province). Our partner is the VITALIS company from Germany who is obliged to organize a practical training in Leipzig. The project will last 12 months from the beginning of September 2015 till the end of August 2016. The participants of the training will be 17-19 year-old students (grade II and III) studying to obtain the vocation of information technology specialist. 20 students accompanied by their teachers will be trained for 4 weeks in Leipzig. The project involves practical training in Robotron Bildungs- und Beratungszentrum GmbH Leipzig, specializing in educating students in the area of Information Technology which will be organised by the Vitalis company. Students will be able to increase their theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills in the field of building, configuration and administration of the most modern computer networks based on the Windows and Linux Systems. Looking at the current demands of the labour market in Poland one can notice there is a great need for specialists with the skills of building and administrating networks. Our school does not own a suitable lab where the students can put into practice the required skills. Therefore the school cannot provide specialization in network administration. The practical training usually takes place in local service centres, offices and other schools. The main objectives of the project are: - the basics of local area networks; - designing local area networks; - designing and installing the wiring; - configuration and servicing local area networks; - diagnostics and fixing local area networks; - using certain network services of operating systems; - network operating systems - Novell NetWare; - administrating of the Linux OS; - network services of the Linux OS; - network operating systems – Windows Server; - safety of database - improving students’ English and German language skills in the field of IT which will increase their chances of getting a job in the European labour market. After completing the training the participants will obtain certificates confirming acquired skills as well as Europass Mobility. Assessment will be done using the tool of ECVET. The sending institution together with the Vitalis company will participate in dissemination of the results of the project. The Vitalis company will place the information about the project on its own website. The school will organize a conference for students and teachers of secondary schools , representatives of the local council as well as the local job centre, and inform them about the results of the project. The information on the results of the project will be posted on the school website and displayed at school. Reports of the participants on the trip will also be published in the local paper (Dziennik Elblaski), local TV stations (TV Braniewo, TV Elbląg) as well as the local radio (Radio Olsztyn). This information will be spread from April till August 2016. As a result 20 students will gain practical experience and skills in the fields of computer networks and computer graphics which are so much desired in the Polish and European labour markets. What is more, the number of students continuing their education in technical universities will increase. Students will broaden their knowledge and the result of it will be passing their exams confirming vocational qualifications better. Another result will be 20 beneficiaries in the local labour market, who will be ready to take jobs in the IT industry or start their own company which will offer top-quality services which will spread beyond the borders of Poland.
