"Младите не искат да са безработни!"
Start date: Oct 1, 2014, End date: Mar 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Under the project "Young people don't want to be unemployed!" the " Youth and Civil Initiatives in the Rose Valley" NGO will host a National Youth Forum in Karlovo in the period 5-7th December 2014. The forum will be attended by 50 youth leaders and workers , representatives of youth NGOs across the country. The participants will be representatives of different ethnic groups to assess whether ethnicity affects the labor market and employment rates . Through the " World Café " method the participants will discuss what the main problems of young people are and why it is so difficult for them to get a good realisation on the labor market as well as to understand to what extent the young people are aware of the programs and institutions in Bulgaria and the EU which are there to tackle the youth unemployment. During the forum, the youth will face different challenges on the topic of youth unemployment , youth initiatives , developing entrepreneurial attitudes and skills , promoting active citizenship and entrepreneurship, which will finally be summarized in a leaflet of recommendations and decisions. There will be a session to discuss the problems of volunteering among young people and how to recognize the competences acquired during volunteering projects or internships . Experts from the European Information and Innovations Centre at the Commercial Chamber of Plovdiv will explain the opportunities for development of youth SMEs and will inform about the services their centre offers to young people. The European Youth Guarantee scheme will be also presented and participants will discuss ways of its implementation in our country. As official guests of the forum will be invited decision-makers and experts directly involved in the formation of youth policies dealing with the topic of youth unemployment. As a follow up of the project we will issue the leaflet "Be informed ! Be active ! Don't stay unemployed! " , which will summarize the recommendations, proposals and decisions derived from the discussions between the young people and the official guests at the forum . The leaflet will be distributed to all forum members and to people, directly involved in youth policies development and implementation . To achieve a long-term multiplier effect of the results, participants in the forum will be motivated to continue working on the topic of youth unemployment on local level with young people , encouraging them to be active citizens and demand their rights on the labor market.
