Mladim prijazno podjetje
Start date: May 15, 2016, End date: Dec 14, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Since the Trade Union Youth plus is actively engaged in the topics of youth employment in many areas, we aware of the situation young people are facing on the labour market. There has been an increase of precarious forms of work in recent years which is very prominent among youth. We strongly believe and advocate that young people need safe and decent forms of employment that bring a certain social security. A good way to achieve that could by creating a youth friendly company certificate that would encourage employers to foster these kinds of employments. As mentioned before our objectives will be:- To share cases of good practices in the field.- To develop promotional material (brochure).- To share information also after the implementation of the project and to share best practices.- To actively involve decision makers into the process of creating such a certificate trough techniques used in social dialog and encourage policy reform in the future. We will make sure that at least 30 participants are between ages of 15 and 30. We will also ensure gender balance, not only in terms of the youth workers (whom we will choose based on applications) but also when it comes to representatives of other organizations. We firmly believe that it is of crucial importance to have a gender balance when it comes to speakers and will ensure that at least half of the participants in the round table discussions and presentations will be women. There will also be 5 representatives that participated in the creation of the Family friendly certificate and 10 representatives from relevant ministries/employers’ and employees’ organizations.During the project we will organize an event for participant from relevant youth workers, employers and workers organizations and relevant ministries. We will organize and carry out a 2-day conference, whose aim will be to create a solid platform for the creation of the Youth friendly certificate for employers. The conference will be comprised from a number of activities: - Presentations,- Round table discussions and- open debates and work in smaller groups. The main result of this will be gained knowledge for all the participants about the process that these kinds of initiatives must go through and potential obstacles. Round table discussions will involve representatives of the organizations. The aim of these discussions will be to open up a debate between main actors in order to gather different views and opinions from the organizations, who will be most involved in the creation/monitoring of the potentially created certificate. Open debates will be organized on the subjects of youth unemployment, decent work and the roles of different actors in countering low labour standards as well as youth unemployment. The debates will be organized in order to actively involve all the participants of the conference. Group work will be the final activity of the conference. The end result of this will be the creation of proposals of different standards that employers should fulfill in order to be considered youth friendly and be able to get a Youth Friendly Certificate. After the conference we will collect all the information gathered during and create a report. From the collected information we will create 2 brochures: one for decision-makers, and the other for employers’ and workers’ organizations and for the employers. We will print and post the brochures online for all relevant actors and promote them through social media in order to give the general public a chance to use them. Furthermore we will send the brochures through our network of partner organizations in Slovenia and encourage them to share it with their members/through social media. The main impact for this project is focused on the national reality of Slovenia. We will strengthen social dialogue. We want to spearhead a process of creating a Youth Friendly Certificate for companies in Slovenia. Desired impact is therefore on one hand an agreement to begin with a process of creating the certificate and on the other changing of policies employers implement in workplaces (through advice and brochures). We will be monitoring the process of Youth friendly certificate after the project ends. During the duration of the project we will make sure it is very clear that our long-term is the Youth Friendly certificate in Slovenia and will be active participants in the process also in the future. By involving different actors who will commit themselves to the process we will reach the goal of creating strong and long-lasting partnerships on solving these issues.
