Start date: Jul 1, 2010,

The project is aimed at facilitating structured dialogue as foreseen in the new framework of European cooperation in the youth field between young people and policy makers at the national level organized under the 5.1. Action of the Youth in Action Programme. The main topic of debate is youth work and mobility and the perspectives of which that can contribute to the overall improvement of youth employment. It is comprised of a survey, to be conducted in July and August 2010 by a group of twelve volunteer youth workers from all regions of Slovenia, of young people's opinions, needs and interests in the context of youth work and mobility. Results of the survey will form a platform for the debates at the national youth conference. At the national youth conference, held from 8th to 10th of September 2010 46 young people will deliberate about the main topic by at the same time considering also better quality assurance of non-formal education within youth work in order to improve the value of youth work and non-formal education, which would in the long term contribute to improvement of youth employment. Measures will be taken to ensure that a large range of young people aged between 15 and 30 and a broad spectrum of youth organisations will be represented in the regional survey and the national youth event, especially targeting young people with fewer opportunities. The national event will provide the participants with a non-formal learning experience and will contribute to young people's education, as well as to greater understanding of the social circumstances within which they live. In general, the project will also represent the preparation for the offical European youth conference under the Belgium EU presidency and will as such include a democratic participatory process through which the youth delegates to the conference will be appointed.
