Mirando hacia Europa para la Innovación
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Facing the need to confront the improving of the academic success in our high school and the willingness of implement a high quality education to our students, we consider that the permanent teacher training is crucial. We also are looking for innovative and eficient solutions in other european countries with a broad experience in the educational field. Our main interest for participating in this project is getting to know new approaches and perspectives in the education system in the countries requested, Finland and Iceland so we can subsequently transfer them to our own educational context and needs. We believe that this project will result in a very interesting and enriching experience, as these countries traditionally obtain outstanding rates of academic success. To carry on this movility project, three teachers will be selected and will form a didactic team, whose profesional and personal profile should respond to the previous established criteria (linguistic competence, team work, involvement in the school projects, motivation, availability, opening to interculturality and willing to share and spread the knowledge and the experiences). Participants will accomplish a series of previous activities, the Structured study visit to schools and institutes to the country of destination and implementation activities. Finally the participants will communicate the results and evaluation of the measures applied in our educational community. Through a colaborative work, the participants will carry out an information gathering (surveys, interviews, observation charts and registers, etc.) to analise the educational systems in the visited countries, comparing them with our own educational system and be able to transfer and implement innovative solutions to meet our demands. We expect to transfer all the information and experiences to our own educational context (students, teachers, School Council) through different educational forums (staff meetings) with the intention of reaching as many teachers as possible. Then, they will be able to know the new elements and apply them in their classrooms. Also locally (presenting the results in the Teachers Training Centre) and globally (Canarian educational network, national and european). We consider that the benefits of this experience will remain in the long term as the adopted measures will be included in the School Educational Project, letting thus the perpetuation of the results: improvement of the teacher training and subsequently the quality of the teacher performance in our staff. This will directly affect on the improvement of the academic success in our students. Furthermore, our school will have the opportunity to open to the european space of educational institutions. Thus, it will be able to build a reinforced educational network and face the future challenges of the education.
