MINOS**

Minos** is a transnational project based on the preparatory work of the Minos project which expands and deepens the modular concept of further education about an additional qualification for non-academic specialists in collaboration with European partners. The concept shall mainly address training facilities or teachers for working and unemployed persons of all ages as well as persons with a migration background in the fields of Mechanical and Plant Engineering or in the interdisciplinary field of Mechatronics. Here the focus is more and more on people with a migration background whose human resources have been so far mostly unused as they lack language skills or a graduation and thus do not have an opportunity of a higher education. By using modular qualification a transnational, uniform level of education shall be achieved within the framework of the Minos concept of further training. Currently there are a total of twelve teaching modules available with the following topics: Fundamentals, Mechatronic Systems and Components, Mechatronic Features, Commissioning, Safety, Teleservices, Remote Maintenance, Diagnosis, Robotics, Rapid Prototyping and Interfaces. The focus is not only on teaching the technical basics and on deepening mechatronic specifics, but there are also aspects of so called soft skills like social or intercultural expertise involved in the teaching documents. Each teaching module is made up of three components: the course book with the content to be taught, the exercise book for the students to review the lessons learned as well as the solution or trainer book supporting the teacher with didactic information. The modular design of the contents stands for use specific to requirements so that the individual contents can be used separately. Additionally the modular design of the contents allows for a constant expansion of new contents as well as the translation in other European languages.
