Mieszko w Europie
Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The priorities that we set for our school and our the awareness of today’s needs and expectations of our students made the teachers working at Senior High School with Integrating Classes of Prince Mieszko I realise the neccessity of innovative actions aimed at better preparations for implementing priorities of European education. Thus, our school has prepared the two-year European Plan of the School’s Development. It proposes extending co-operation with European schools so that we could undertake common actions in different areas, share our experience and konwledge. Finding partner schools and the development of international co-operation will be the effect of involving twelve teachers in Erasmus+, including the head teacher and her deputy. Furthermore, thanks to participation in the program, our school will gain an opportunity of joining an eTwinning project in which a group of students supervised by teachers will be publishing an international school newspaper in co-operation with students from other countries in compliance with the highest standards of journalistic ethics. Such a project will contribute to sharing opinions and information among students and teachers. The participants will be able to popularise mobile education and encourage others to take part in next editions of Erasmus +. The European Plan of the School’s Development also aims for creating a pilot class with an innovative syllabus of the chosen subjects within the CLIL system. To achieve it we need teachers whose training would let them apply the English language in the area of methodology and didactics of the chosen subjects. At first, that would consist in introducing just elements of English during the particular subjects lessons, according to teachers’ skills. To prepare teachers for active participation in specialist courses within Erasmus+ and to improve their competence and linguistic skills, we want them to develop their knowledge of English first in Poland and later while staying in the UK. As a result, the teachers will be prepared for specialist methodological courses of their subjects within the CLIL system and for language-observation courses. The English language teachers will take use of methodological-language courses improving their professional qualifications. They will learn attractive teaching techniques and the newest activating methods. That could help them succeed even with the most demanding students and motivate others to study more effectively. The results will be students and teachers’ satisfaction with the whole didactic process. All teachers who will participate in the courses will enrich their practical knowledge of using information technology during lessons and while sharing opinions on the forum. All teachers will develop their professional skills characteristic for the subjects they teach. What’s more, thanks to their British experience, the teachers will gain a rich source of ideas and materials for their future reference, which in turn will increase effectiveness of teaching and will motivate students who always demand various new stimuli. The courses will facilitate better relations with students and parents. The teachers will understand students better after they play students’ role during the courses. Other positive effects include: raising interest in the English culture, managing stress resulting from new situations, raising self-esteem, breaking away from school routine, broadening horizons, evoking interest in mobile education and spreading the idea among students and teachers. To implement our plan we have decided to participate in Erasmus+ by: informing all teachers about the project during two staff meetings, appointing the school co-ordinator and participating teachers, preparing an application and all other documents, signing bilateral agreements securing the process of organising and running the suitable courses, informing teachers in writing of all details of the courses, maintaining good communication with teachers, the co-ordinator, group leader and the representative of the institution running the courses, monitoring the courses, writing the evaluative report on the whole project, implementing and dissemination of the results of the courses. Taking part in the project we declare to take full use of its effects and to disseminate the effects by all possible means within our school and in our environment. We will be systematically publishing news, information and photos on the school web page, facebook school fan page, school forum (sharing experience), school library, eTwinning pages, in the media. We will also prepare multimedia presentation for the staff meeting and for the Parents Board; we’ll hold a meeting with other teachers of our town, the head teacher will inform other head teachers at their meetings. Thus, we will encourage other schools to participate in the project.
