Междукултурният диалог пред нови предизвикателства: визията и мисията на младите
Start date: Aug 15, 2016, End date: Dec 14, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Intercultural Dialogue Facing New Challenges: The Vision and Mission of the Young People Project will be focused on three major issues:1. Active youth citizenship in the EU and the partner countries - instrument for strengthening and advancing the space of European values in a changing context and new challenges related but not limited to the refugees crisis2. Intercultural dialogue and knowledge in the context of the European values and the idea for European citizenship through the eyes of the young people in the EU and the partner countries3. The future of the European project and the projection of the European values beyond the EU borders The project will offer to the young participants a platform for debate on the issue of intercultural dialogue anchored in the idea of the European project and European values and viewed from the perspective of countries with a different status regarding the EU. Different cultural backgrounds of the participants in the project will contribute to the richness of viewpoints on active citizenship and the dialogue among cultures. It will allow us to see if there is a different understanding of the ‘intercultural dialogue’ issue in the EU and in the partner countries as well as to give interpretation to ‘United in diversity” idea against the background of the new challenges facing the European Union, in general, and in the context of the refugees crisis, in particular. One of the main principles enshrined in the European idea – respect for and preservation of the different cultures in a united Europe – will be the starting point of the discussion. Based on the principles enshrined in the Lisbon Treaty and in the context of the philosophy underlying Europe 2020 strategy, the project will seek to motivate the participants to increase their awareness, to share their vision on the future of the European project and on the relevant challenges both to the EU member states and to EU partner countries. Major goals of the project:1. To motivate the young people (both in EU and EU partner countries) to deepen their knowledge about the rights and responsibilities associated with the European citizenship as well as to work actively on increasing the awareness of the members of the communities where they live, study, work;2. To stimulate active citizenship among the young people as an instrument for fostering tolerance and respect for cultural diversity as well as for strengthening the intercultural awareness. 3. To instigate the interest of the young people to more actively participate in the debate on the future of the European project. 4. To encourage the exchange of information, experience and good practices in youth work and initiatives aimed at motivating the young people to be active citizens and to participate in public life.Thirty (30) young people from Bulgaria and Macedonia will take part in the project. The youth exchange will take place at the Resource and Information Center of the Leadership Academy, located in Belchin bani village, municipality of Samokov.
