From Foundation Op Kop is since 2011 active policy in the field of early foreign language education. Students we want to prepare as well as possible for their future. English is in our opinion essential in the future as well as possible in our ever to function more internationally oriented society. We therefore introduce English as Early Foreign Language in all of our 20 schools from group 1 to 8, along with a robust professional development program for all teachers. The policy aims to satisfy all of our 20 schools in 2017 to mark the Early Bird and high quality English is taught in groups 1 to 8. There is an English coordinator appointed to monitor this process. The policy is firmly anchored in the strategic policy of the Foundation and the school (years) plans of the schools. All teachers of Foundation Op Kop are trained in teaching English. All teachers at Foundation Cup therefore have received training since 2011 (by school or with other schools) for their English proficiency and pedagogy for providing challenging teaching in English. In addition, there was in 2013 a plenary seminar in the framework of English place for all employees and follow several employees (teachers and directors) courses and conferences provided from EarlyBird focus on providing the best possible way of English in primary education.Internal audits are conducted to monitor the quality of the data and to promote English. By according to the Pilgrim Course for 13 teachers on the language skills of teachers will be improved, both for their own skill as teaching methodology, this will have a stimulating effect on the quality of the education provided. It is expected that the course will help to improve their own language skills and teaching methodology in order to widen and deepen the education provided will occur. Teachers gain confidence in teaching English to young learners and tips and ideas to teach in the group. There will also be, because four schools Foundation Cup going on at the same time, more knowledge sharing between the schools place themselves. Good examples are shared, so that teachers full of inspiration to get started. After completing the course the proceeds will be evaluated by the participants and the knowledge gained from the course to all employees of Op Kop shared through giving a workshop on the study and a lot of our staff newsletter. We expect by following this course and sharing the knowledge that the European dimension will be strengthened in our foundation and our students are better prepared for an increasingly internationally oriented world.
